Christmasy Mouse.....Hand made stockings.

As a Christmasy Mouse they are a lover of all things Christmasy.

For me it is a very magical time of year when the world unites to celebrate a miracle. Now the energy around Christmas is just infectious. I also love the craft side of Christmas and I am very much inspired Kirstie Allsopps. I made these little felt stockings to hang on the tree to put some sweets in them. I only bought 3 colours of felt, red, green and white. All you really need to create Christmas stockings. I then used Gold embroidery thread and stitched round with a running stitch to stand out. I then used the same coloured threat to stitch the details on to the stockings. I decided to pick the glittery felt but you can get the plain stuff but I thought that the sparkly stuff is more festive. I wanted to make my tree unique and when we have children they will hang them with pride. I did a few different designs. my favourite one is the poinsettia as it looks lovely. I also did a snow man and a Santa hat.
I think that its a fun thing to make on the lead up to Christmas. This year though I'm defiantly going to make our stockings the big ones that hang on the fire place. I know it's only march but having been ill last year I really didn't get to do all my hand made presents. Now I need to get some Christmasy Fabric and Christmasy Appliqués. I want to make them like the ones Kirsty did.
